At the August Valpo Chamber Board of Directors' meeting, Shelli Williams, Executive Director of the Indiana Chamber Executives Association, visited to give the board an overview of why the Valpo Chamber was chosen as Indiana's Chamber of the Year. 

The Valpo Chamber was successful in all areas of the competition, but specific highlights include:

-taking a position to help the Valparaiso Community Schools pass two referendums for school improvements

-helping to secure a private equity investor through the Valparaiso Economic Development Corporation to construct a $6.5 million shell building to attract businesses

-successful and effective marketing elements including video newsletters

-continuing to grow membership year over year.

The Valpo Chamber is thankful for all the support over the years and looks forward to future growth of not only the chamber, but all of its members as well.
