Recently ACPMP launched our PATIENT EMPOWERMENT initiative, a collection of programs designed to empower patients to learn more about their condition, offer helpful resources, and participate in valuable research.
Excess Tissue Donation : ACPMP has partnered with Pattern.org to allow patients to direct their excess cancer tissue samples to research projects. Samples donated via Pattern.org will be sent to the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard , where the samples will be used to attempt to develop research models. Visit Pattern.org to learn more about this project.

The Broad has informed us that they are going to reprioritize indications and have seen limited samples for appendix cancer. Pattern.org said they would like to try to ensure that appendix cancer patients remain in the priority list, so the sooner we have samples, the better! Please inform your patients of this program and encourage them to participate.

New Patient Guide : a guide for new patients providing information on appendix cancer and pseudomyxoma peritonei along with quick links to patient resources; please consider sharing this resource with newly diagnosed appendix cancer and PMP patients.

Clinical Trial Guide : an explanation of clinical trials and links to active trials currently recruiting appendix cancer and/or PMP patients; please consider sharing this resource with patients who ask about current clinical trials.

Thank you for your support of our mission to fund research to improve the diagnosis and treatment for appendix cancer and pseudomyxoma peritonei and to educate patients and physicians about these diseases. If you need educational materials for your patients, please contact us at info@acpmp.org or (833) 227-6773.
