Welcome to FODAC, Sandra Guthrie
The newest member of the FODAC team is Sandra Guthrie. As director of human resources, Sandra will
supervise all aspects of FODAC staffing, including staffing plans, compensation, benefits, training and development, budget, and labor relations.
Sandra comes from the for-profit world, and is excited about lending her talents to a non-profit like FODAC. "In a for-profit business, even when a person really enjoys their job, they ultimately are working for a paycheck. With a non-profit like FODAC, people work because they believe in the mission. They are working for more than a paycheck, they are there for bigger reasons."
Sandra has lived in Atlanta for almost thirty years, but has an international history. Part of a military family (her father was career Air Force), she was born in Japan and grew up literally all over the world. She graduated with a BA in accounting from Jacksonville State University in Alabama, but moved from accounting to human resources in 2003.
Sandra has two children: Sebastian, who is set to graduate from Savannah State University graduate school in May, and Zoey, who will graduate from Georgia Tech undergraduate in December. With two kids away at college, Sandra keeps busy with her two "fur babies:" a Yorkshire Terrier named Bearington Bear, and a Pomeranian mix named Charlie Bear. She has been working with the Yorkie on agility training, and is ready to move him to the second level of training.
