Greetings!,

August is here. We hope you are making the most of it and enjoying some lazy days on or in the Lake, especially when the skies are clear and the air is fresh.

We are happy to tell you that, since our members' meeting on 20 June, we have been making steady progress. Several of you have stepped forward to help in different ways. This is so encouraging. Thank you. Please, do not hesitate, if you have any time or skills to offer; we'd just love to hear from you. You can get in touch here anytime and we will get right back to you.

We are also delighted to announce our first Beach Clean up of the summer. It will be in Nelson. The details are below, and we are hoping you will be able to join us. It is such a good opportunity to reconnect with old friends, meet new volunteers and enjoy time by our beautiful Lake while giving our shoreline a helping hand.

We value your support and hope to hear from you or see you soon.

Beach Clean up

Nelson Shore

4.30pm

As a member and steadfast supporter of FoKLSS we know you're just as passionate about preserving our shorelines as we are. So here is a great opportunity.

Location: The shore from Walmart to Rotary Beach; we will meet at the North corner of the Walmart parking lot

What to Expect:

  • Bonding with fellow beach enthusiasts.
  • Getting your hands sandy (in a good way!).
  • Making a tangible difference for our aquatic friends.
  • Snacks and refreshments to keep your energy tides high.

How You Can Help: Your enthusiasm and helping hands are all we need to turn the tide against lake litter. Whether you're a seasoned cleanup veteran or just dipping your toes in for the first time, every bit counts!

We will supply some equipment, but if you have any of the following, please bring it!

  • Reusable work gloves
  • Knee-pads
  • Trash picker-uppers
  • Buckets
  • Shovels and Rakes

Don’t forget to wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring a reusable water bottle!

Spread the Word: Feel free to invite friends, family, or anyone with a heart for our local waters. The more, the merrier!

Let's come together to make waves in the fight for cleaner shores. Your support means the world to us (and the lake).

Let us know you are coming

See you there!
