Recap: Roundtable Series on Direct Marketing in Agriculture
Digitalization as an opportunity to increase resource efficiency, produce higher yields, and improve sustainability in agriculture was one of the many topics discussed at our Agricultural Initiative in Germany. Besides visiting the Eurotier, the world’s leading trade show for animal production in Hannover, 20 American farmers discussed the growing disconnect between farmers and the general public with German peers, and the use of social media to change the way agriculture is viewed by the consumer.
Recap: GACC Apprenticeship Awards
On the occasion of the Apprenticeship week, t he GACCs presented their Apprenticeship Awards in Washington D.C. After an interesting panel discussion on how to close the skills gap, we honored the best and brightest apprenticeship programs as part of the Y ear of German-American Friendship . Congratulations to our 2018 winners  Brose North America, Inc.  and  WITTENSTEIN  North America!
Recap: On the Job Training 2.0
The first part of our Transatlantic Apprenticeship Dialogue brought in one German company and one school for a successful peer-peer exchange of best practices in apprenticeships. Our ICATT network company WITTENSTEIN discussed best practices of their training methods and gave participants a tour through their facility. Streamwood Highschool and Triton College showcased their learning facilities, where future CNC and manufacturing students are operating. Recap: Art and Apprenticeships at the Michigan Chapter Fall Dinner
More than 100 professionals gathered at the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) for the Michigan Chapter's Fall Dinner to network on November 14. Uwe Krüger, chairman of our Michigan Chapter’s board, reflected on the chapter's successful year. He highlighted the growth of our apprenticeship programs upon GACC Midwest's selection for a program management award for the Michigan Advanced Technician Training (MAT2) program.
