Art Wilkens Truck and Trailer Auction VanDerBrink Auctions conducted the Art Wilkens Truck and Trailer Auction on 10-20-2012. Bidders from over 15 States were in attendance in the field full of diamonds in the rough in Stockton, KS. The weather was fabulous and bidding was steady on these rare trucks. The auction started at 9am and concluded a little after 2PM in the afternoon. The tractors were sold first and then went into some tractor parts, and then the diamond T's followed by Chevrolet, Ford, International, REO, and more. There were many rare trucks on the auction and all were originals or projects. There also was an assortment of truck parts and Art kept coming up with rare Diamond T parts to surprise the crowd. First came a spare tire carrier for a Diamond T with a key, then a set of hub caps for a Diamond T. WE were wondering what he was going to come up with next. There were an assortment of Treasures on the auction. An 830 John Deere project sold for $5750.00, A Diamond T Model 201 Pickup Project sold for $7100.00. One of the Bell of the Balls was a 1935 Dodge Air Flow Fuel truck one of 7 left known to exist. The truck was a complete project and sold to a museum for $30,000.00. There were also cars on the auction and a 1958 Cadillac project sold for $5000.00. Another of the Gems of the Collection was a 1975 Dodge Big Horn Semi that went to Northern Minnesota for $40,000.00 to a Dodge Collector. The auction concluded with everyone loading up their treasures and going home. One bidder from Hastings, NE loaded up his treasure and didn't make it a half/mile and rolled his truck and payload. He was able to drive home with the pickup but the trucks got left behind. The auction was also held on-line along with the live auction in Kansas with approx. 103 on-line bidders from around the world.
