Russell Livesay, Class of 1994

In a world of more economic uncertainty and opportunity than ever before, investment adviser, alum and four-time Viking dad Russell Livesay ‘94 is set to share his perspective through “Exploring the Economic Landscape,” a panel discussion on March 5 that is part of the Vanguard Alumni Speaker Series.

After graduating high school, Livesay earned a BBA in Accounting and a Masters in Accounting from Baylor University and went to work for Arthur Andersen, where he worked with clients like Bass Pro Shops, Texas Rangers, Crescent Real Estate and the American Heart Association. But after just four years, Enron blew up. Livesay said through that experience, he learned early in his career what bad leadership can do to an organization.

The class with the highest participation or any class that hits 100% will have a picnic table reserved and named in their honor on the new Alumni Patio, a special reception for the class, and recognized on the Alumni Webpage. (Minimum gifts of $19.73 count. Alumni Parents can enter too!)

Congratulations, Carlyn Mattson Davis '18 and Spencer Davis '18! Carlyn and Davis were married on Saturday, December 14, 2024, in South Carolina.

Carlyn graduated from SMU with a Bachelor of Business Administration and is a credit analyst/banker with PlainsCapital Bank. Spencer graduated from SMU with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He is a broker associate at FischerCRE in Dallas.

Congratulations Alumnus, Tim Latimer!

Tim Latimer '08, co-founder and CEO of Fervo Energy (https://fervoenergy.com/), was recently named to the TIME100 Next 2024 listing and was featured on the cover of Forbes.

Tim attended the University of Tulsa before completing a Masters of Business Administration at Stanford. He has raised more than $400 million to pursue his green dream of unlocking limitless zero-carbon thermal energy from Earth’s crust.

Congratulations, Graham Gardner '17 and Melissa Cullum on their recent wedding in Houston!

Graham and Melissa met at Baylor University. In attendance at the wedding were a number of former Vanguard students, including Spencer Davis, Carlyn Mattson, Ross Steinbach, Rachael Steinbach, Cal Carter, and George Eichenberg.

Since graduating from Baylor in 2021, Graham has lived in Round Rock, working in the field of logistics and carrier sales. He is currently Senior Strategic Account Manager for Ryder System, Inc., in Round Rock.

The HS Viking Sapphires brought home six Division I rankings at the TAPPS Dance State Championships! They performed solos, a duet, and as a team with two performances. This is an amazing kick-off to their competition season! Can’t wait to see what’s next!
