Board of Directors- Call for Nominations (OCTOBER 1 deadline) & Elections
There are two Director terms expiring December 31, 2020. There will be an election for the new three year terms starting Jan 1, 2021.
If you are a General or Lifetime member in good standing (preferred > TWO YEARS' Membership), have a passion for the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed and are committed to maintaining the Gypsy Vanner breed in accordance with the Goals and Mission of the GVHS, consider submitting your nomination information.
Members with an interest in running for a Director position must understand the qualifications to be a GVHS Director and understand and agree to abide by the Code of Ethics. These are summarized on the GVHS website. Potential nominees must submit their nomination form, and their brief bio and photo to the GVHS office no later than October 1, 2020. Information for qualified nominees will be provided to the voters.
This election will be done electronically so it is important that the GVHS have your correct email address on file. Please review the Membership List on the website and notify the GVHS Office of any corrections or changes.

In response to discussions at the Annual Meeting and review of membership proposals, the GVHS Board of Directors have made some changes and additions for 2021: ONLINE REGISTRY:
Access to the GVHS online registry will no longer require a separate subscription fee beginning with the 2021 memberships. Access will be included with a paid membership. HIGH POINT AWARDS PROGRAMS: Additional Year End Awards! Starting with the 2021 show season, in addition to the many existing awards, the GVHS will now recognize the TOP TEN Halter Horses by gender. This honor will come with a certificate of recognition, posting on the website and recognition in the Vanner magazine. Points Qualifying Shows Starting with the 2021 show season, the GVHS will only recognize points for up to two (2) judges at any given GVHS approved points show. There will always be some imbalance in showing opportunities due to geographic location, number of owners or horses, length of show season etc. This policy is meant to resolve some of this for exhibitors and their horses. For areas with few opportunities, the GVHS encourages owners to get together to commit to participation and support of shows in those areas. If you can demonstrate to the show manager that you have enough owners committed to make it financially feasible for them, they will bring shows to your area. If you are a show manager you must have your show request form to the GVHS at least 90 days prior to your event to be considered as a GVHS points qualifying show. This provides time to advertise the event and to allow our members/exhibitors sufficient time to plan to attend. Questions? Please contact one of the GVHS Board members or the GVHS Office. |
