2020 Board of Directors- Elections
In order to facilitate voting in the 2020 GVHS Board of Directors election, the GVHS has once again implemented a secure and confidential solution for online voting through the online election platform, www.SimplyVoting.com.
Simply Voting is a web-based online voting system that helps organizations to run elections easily and securely. Visit the Simply Voting website for more information about how Simply Voting ensures a tamper proof, secure and reliable method for GVHS members to vote.
HOW DOES IT WORK? Once the election is open for voting, all eligible members will receive an email notice containing their Simply Voting unique USERNAME, PASSWORD and a link to the 2020 GVHS Board of Directors online election ballot. The ballot will be accessible for voting from 8:00 am EST on November 1, 2020 through until 4:00pm EST on December 16, 2020. Email blast reminders will be sent periodically throughout this time period to members who have not yet voted.
Note that all emails to members will originate from the email: vote@simplyvoting.com from one of the following servers:
Primary Email server: simplyvoting.com,
Sending IP: 69.72.46.15
Secondary Email server: o3.email.simplyvoting.com,
Sending IP: 198.21.6.73
It is possible that some servers may block this email from being delivered. For most users, simply adding vote@simplyvoting.com to their contacts should be sufficient to avoid this. If possible, request from the IT department of your email provider that email from Simply Voting be white-listed and add this email to your safe senders list.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
If you do not receive the email with your voting information by November 1,2020, first look to be sure you have a current General or Lifetime membership and own a horse that is registered in your name with the GVHS which qualifies you as a voting member.
Check the latest MEMBERS list online at www.vanners.org to ensure that the GVHS has your latest email address. If not, please update by contacting the GVHS office, 888-520-9777 or gvhs@vanners.org.
Review the Nominee information, available on the GVHS website prior to voting. During the election, if you have verified the above information and still do not receive the email notices from Simply Voting, contact the GVHS office for assistance.

Gypsy Vanner Horse Society 25th Anniversary Celebration!
Celebration will take place at the
World Equestrian Center in Ocala, FL, November 19-21, 2021. In
February 2021 we will be announcing and awarding the
2020 GVHS Awards winners. We will also honor those winners during the Anniversary weekend later in the year. There will be food and fun, as well as educational presentations.
At this time we are asking the members to provide suggestions of educational topics they would like to have at this event.

In Case You Missed the September News-New for 2021!
In response to discussions at the Annual Meeting and review of membership proposals, the GVHS Board of Directors have made some changes and additions for 2021: ONLINE REGISTRY: Access to the GVHS online registry will no longer require a separate subscription fee beginning with the 2021 memberships. Access will be included with a paid membership. HIGH POINT AWARDS PROGRAMS Additional Year End Awards: Starting with the 2021 show season, in addition to the many existing awards, the GVHS will now recognize the TOP TEN Halter Horses by gender. This honor will come with a certificate of recognition, posting on the website and recognition in the Vanner magazine. Points Qualifying Shows: Starting with the 2021 show season, the GVHS will only recognize points for up to two (2) judges at any given GVHS approved points show. There will always be some imbalance in showing opportunities due to geographic location, number of owners or horses, length of show season etc. This policy is meant to resolve some of this for exhibitors and their horses. For areas with few opportunities, the GVHS encourages owners to get together to commit to participation and support of shows in those areas. If you can demonstrate to the show manager that you have enough owners committed to make it financially feasible for them, they will bring shows to your area. If you are a show manager you must have your show request form to the GVHS at least 90 days prior to your event to be considered as a GVHS points qualifying show. This provides time to advertise the event and to allow our members/exhibitors sufficient time to plan to attend. Questions? Please contact one of the GVHS Board members or the GVHS Office. |
