Vote YES November 6 on Question #3 |
Whatever your political views may be, we encourage you to vote on November 6. We also wish to share our views and support for Question 3: Transgender Anti-Discrimination.
The Torah tells us that we are all B'tzelem Elohim, made in God's image, and therefore, that all of us are deserving of individual dignity, love, and respect. In 2016, the Massachusetts Legislature recognized this universal ideal and added Gender Identity to the list of protections from discrimination in places of public accommodation. This November, the citizens of Massachusetts will be given the opportunity to reaffirm the ideals of equal protection by voting YES on Ballot Question 3.
We, the congregation of Temple Shir Tikva are a community that honors the variety of genders in or midst and we recognize the dangers of discriminating against any one particular subgroup which is why we shall not stand idly by. Therefore we strongly support a YES vote on Question 3 to maintain Gender Identity's legal protection against discrimination in places of public accommodation.
