And just like that, school is back in session. We have an exciting year planned for our RMI students packed with real-world experiences.

• 257 students enrolled in the RMI Program
• Top five in the country in enrolled students
• 207 students enrolled in the RMI Major
• 33 Students enrolled in the RMI Certificate
• 16 Students enrolled in the UI's MBA Program with RMI focus
• 1 Student enrolled in the RMI PhD Program
• 60 Gamma Iota Sigma Members

2024 Vaughan Institute Golf Outing

Thank you to our 120+ golf participants, nearly 30 students, and 15 University of Iowa faculty and staff who joined us at the 2024 Vaughan Institute Golf Outing. We had a fantastic day filled with golf, networking, food, and sunshine.

Thanks to the financial support of our corporate sponsors and company participants above we had a very successful scholarship fundraiser. Much appreciated as our remarkable growth is fueling the need for more scholarships.

A special thank you to Mark and Haley Gamis, Cindy Meis, Sara Burden, and Leah Cox for leading a wonderful student seminar on the art of networking to find an ideal next internship or job. More than 25 students attended.

Thanks also to Dean Amy Kristof-Brown and Fred Crawford from Aflac for sharing some thoughts with our guests.

Professional RMI & Finance Seminar

Thank you to Brent Pritchard for graciously allowing us to come and speak to nearly 340 students in the Professional RMI and Finance Seminar! We were able to speak to students about the industry, upcoming events, and why they should think about a career in RMI!

The Vaughan Institute has adopted two new mascots on our risk management team. Meet K9 Officer Bella and K9 Officer Judge. Both are highly-trained in explosive detection and help to keep our University of Iowa community safe with their incredibly keen sense of smell. Along with their handlers, Officer Huggar and Officer Mohling, these four-legged risk managers were our surprise celebrity guests at our outing and shared how they do their amazing work on campus. Who doesn't love these risk managers?

Global Insurance Accelerator - Accelerate 2024

This great event will include RMI student presentations by Drake University, Iowa State, and the University of Iowa. We have selected a fantastic team of RMI students to assess how InsurTech innovation can solve challenges facing the industry.

2024 Risk Management & Insurance Career Fair

You won't want to miss this year's Risk Management and Insurance Career Fair. Mark your calendars for September 18, 2024, from 1:00-4:00 p.m., to meet with the best and brightest students at the University of Iowa. This event will take place at the Iowa Memorial Union in the International Ballroom.

Gamma Iota Sigma presents "A Day in the Future"

This event will be limited to the first fifty GIS members to register, so don't wait! Plans are in the works for future treks to Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, and Chicago.

Vaughan Institute Student Scholarship Night

Save the Date

The Vaughan Institute Scholarship Night will take place Monday, October 28, 2024. Mark your calendars. Students, be on the lookout for scholarship information coming to your University of Iowa emails the first few weeks of classes—you won't want to miss this exciting event. Last school year we awarded over $70,000 to 80 students! Applications will be distributed in September.
