Insure Your Future 2024

What do this year's Insure Your Future Interns have to say about their experiences?

Connect with Stephanie to learn more about IYF!

The above University of Iowa students created these videos to memorialize their Insure Your Future experience. Once back on campus, these students will be able to share their experiences with other first and second year students in the classroom. The IYF program will be selecting two scholarship winners based on their video submissions at the Iowa Insurance Hall of Fame!

Leadership Session 3 was held at Principal Financial in Des Moines. Professor Matthew Mitchell, author of "Am I Doing This Right?: Foundations for a Successful Career and Fulfilling Life" led the student development activity which gave students the opportunity to develop their own personal brand identities. This event also hosted an insurance CEO panel which included Matthew Mitchell, April Schmaltz (CEO of Delta Dental), Dan Houston (CEO of Principal), Dave Keith (CEO of Wellabe), and Dave Miles (Founding Partner of ManchesterStory).

Leadership Session 4 was hosted by Athene in West Des Moines. The last leadership session was full of fresh content for student participants. The keynote session on "Building the Life You Want" was led virtually by Bryce Fuemmeler of Arthur Brooks Group. Session 4 also focused on foundations for insurtech development with local leaders like Dan Israel of the Global Insurance Accelerator and Gary Anderson, CEO of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

Thank you to University of Iowa Dean Amy Kristof-Brown, Associate Dean Charles Keene, and IEDA's Michael Gould for their continued support of this amazing program.

University of Iowa Gateway Program - Summer 2024

The University of Iowa Tippie Summer Gateway Program hosted two cohorts of high school students this past June and July. Students were welcomed by peer mentors and experienced an accelerated local business assessment workshop in which they evaluated local business problems and presented solutions in a competitive 5-minute pitch - all in just a week's time! While on campus, students stayed in the residence halls, ate in the dining halls, and got to explore all that the University of Iowa has to offer. Thanks to Gabriela Rivera, we were able to speak to these high school students from as far away as California about their possible futures in RMI!

We know these students have a bright future ahead of them.
