Insure Your Future 2025 Cohort

Sessions 3 and 4 of the Insure Your Future program offered their record-breaking 103 interns a dynamic blend of leadership insight, industry innovation, and career preparation. At Transamerica, students heard from Chad Meyers, Vice President and Chief Auditor, and Fred Crawford, former President of Aflac and Executive in Residence at the Vaughan Institute, who shared lessons on navigating the financial mosaic of an insurance carrier with diverse stakeholders. Interns also explored the growing impact of AI on the industry and gained valuable interview and negotiation tips from a panel of HR professionals.

Two weeks later at Holmes Murphy, the focus turned to Iowa’s insurance future with insights from Nick Gerhart, COO at Homesteaders Life and former Iowa Insurance Commissioner, and innovation leaders from BrokerTech Ventures and the Global Insurance Accelerator. Interns also shared their own reflections through presentations and creative videos, wrapping up the program with inspiration and momentum. See below for a few videos that caught our attention.

In addition to professional development, several interns gave back through community service projects in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines. Special thanks to Michael Gould of the Iowa Economic Development Authority for his visionary leadership of this first-of-its-kind program—uniting employers, educators, regulators, economic development leaders, and the next generation of talent.
