We’re all used to being able to buy any fruit or vegetable at any time of the year at the supermarket so this week people are shocked that they can’t stock up on tomatoes and peppers in February. Rising fuel costs and bad weather in Europe are being blamed. With uncertain availability and such high costs of growing and transportation of out-of-season vegetables to both the growers and the environment, it really is a good idea to take a step back and think about what we can grow ourselves and what vegetables are in season at different times of the year.
These might not keep your fridges stocked up this weekend, but if sown soon you won’t have to wait too long for your own supply! For all our vegetable seeds you can click here.
