Vehicle Registration Services Returns To Flemington NJ MVC In 2026

Director Lanza: "This Is Welcome News for Hunterdon Residents"

The Hunterdon County Commissioner Board announced that the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) will restore vehicle registration services to the Flemington NJMVC Agency in 2026, marking a return to the pre-pandemic model of allowing drivers to complete both license and vehicle transactions at the same location.

The decision follows ongoing advocacy from the Hunterdon County Commissioners, who urged state officials to reinstate registration services to better serve county residents, local governments, and small businesses.

Commissioner Director John E. Lanza expressed appreciation for the collaboration that made this outcome possible, stating, “I would like to thank members of the 15th, 16th, and 23rd Legislative Districts for their cooperative and bipartisan work on this issue. Senator Andrew Zwicker shared the development in an email with me and my colleagues earlier yesterday, and this is welcome news for Hunterdon residents.”

Library Services Launches

"The Library Of Things":

Check Out More Than Just Books

At the October 21st Hunterdon County Commissioner Board meeting, Commissioner Zach Rich highlighted the recent launch of “The Library of Things”—a creative lending program from the Hunterdon County Library System (HCLS) that allows patrons to borrow nontraditional items such as crafting tools, electronics, home and recreation equipment, and more.

The innovative initiative, developed in partnership with the Friends of the Hunterdon County Library, expands the traditional concept of a library by offering access to useful household and hobby-related items that residents may not otherwise own.

Commissioner Rich stated, “‘The Library of Things’ is yet another example of the continued innovation and community-focused service at the Hunterdon County Library. This program reflects our library’s commitment to helping residents learn, create, and explore new interests.”

Hunterdon County Commissioners Bring NJ MVC Mobile Unit

Services To Residents

On Tuesday, October 14th, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle (NJMVC) Mobile Unit made a successful stop at the Route 12 County Complex in Flemington, delivering a full range of vital motor vehicle services directly to the residents of Hunterdon County. The event, held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, saw a strong turnout of residents who benefited from both scheduled appointments and walk-up services.

Commissioner Zach Rich shared, “This is exactly the kind of service that makes a difference in people’s lives. We understand that not everyone can easily make it to a full-service MVC location – so bringing these services, especially REAL IDS, directly to the Route 12 Complex helps our residents expedite needed services close to home. I want to thank NJMVC and our county staff for making the mobile unit event a success.”
