Lifeline Community Services

Lifeline Community Services celebrated the grand opening of their Drop-In-Center “The House” Backyard Beautification Project. This space will serve foster youth and youth at risk for or currently experiencing homelessness.

Fall 2023 Senior Experience Program Sponsor Opportunity

Vista Chamber Members can take advantage of a 30% discount from the Senior Experience Program at CSUSM. This discount would bring the price from $1500 to $1000 for 750 hours of student research and coursework on behalf of the qualifying sponsors. We have a few opportunities; the first 20 that get selected by faculty and students during the second week of September. Sponsor applications must be submitted by August 10th. 2023 Congressional App Challenge

The Congressional App Challenge is the official computer science competition of the House of Representatives and has grown to become the most prestigious prize in computer science. The challenge is open to students of all coding levels and is an incredible opportunity for middle and high school students to express their creativity, explore new academic fields in STEM, and gain valuable hands-on experience. California Competes Tax Credit - Application Period Open

The California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC) is an income tax credit available to businesses that want to locate in California or stay and grow in California. Businesses of any industry, size, or location compete for over $180 million available in tax credits by applying in one of the three application periods each year. Applicants will be analyzed based on fourteen different factors of evaluation, including number of full-time jobs being created, amount of investment, and strategic importance to the state or region. SDCCU Stuff the Bus Campaign - Donate now through July 31

The annual Stuff the Bus campaign, now in its 9th year, was launched in partnership with San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), the San Diego County Office of Education and iHeartMedia radio stations in support of Live Well San Diego. This year, in addition to the online collection, the community can also make in-store donations at any Jersey Mike’s location in San Diego County. Learn more here.

Adoption Specials Present More Furry Best Friend Opportunities

The County animal shelters are nearly full, so the Department of Animal Services is offering its Full House Adoption Specials through July. Dogs that weigh 50 pounds and more are available for a $25 adoption fee. Additionally, the shelters have lots of sweet, fluffy kittens available for a $25 adoption fee – and they are also offering a buy one kitten, get another free bonus special. Learn more here.
