Vista Strawberry Run 🍓

The Vista Strawberry Run, San Diego’s Sweetest Race, is open to all ages! And show your spirit by running the race in your best Strawberry costume!


Run or walk the scenic and mostly flat courses, including:

  • 5K (3.1 mile) course.
  • Just-for-fun Kids 1-Mile or 1/4-Mile options.


All Strawberry Run participants will receive:

  • Custom event T-shirt
  • Commemorative medal
  • One FREE beer in the Vista Strawberry Festival craft beer garden (21+ only)
  • A one-day pass to the invite-only Carlsbad Columbia Sportswear Employee Store
  • Age group awards
  • Souvenir cinch bag filled with goodies
  • Fresh strawberries
  • And more!

Ribbon Cutting for Pokitomik

Pokitomik is not your regular poke place, they bring the freshest and most wholesome ingredients to make the most explosive Poke! Owner Anthony Alvarez is also a firefighter who with the help of his fiance and kids (pictured holding the banner) want to bring this explosive 💥 poke into your life.


Visit them at their location at 1651 S Melrose Dr., open every day from 11am-10pm. Don't forget to take a picture at their selfie stations!

Strawberry Film Festival: Vista Strong "True Strength"

Strength comes in all shapes and sizes. What defines true strength? How do you utilize it? Where does it come from? Is strength made or are you born with it? Does true strength even exist? Through Film show what you believe True Strength looks like.


Participant films will be played the day of the Vista Strawberry Festival, May 28, at The Film Hub.

One-Time $4,000 Grant Program for Low-Income Families Hurt By COVID-19

The Recovery Action Fund for Tomorrow will provide one-time cash distributions in the amount of $4,000 to families with children under 18 years of age and seniors, prioritizing those at risk of homelessness. This fund addresses the growing need for flexible funds, will connect recipients to resources that help them maximize the receipt of these funds, and will support them in planning for their future. The program will serve San Diego County, prioritizing the 39 Health Equity Zip Codes, and will focus on households earning 200% or less of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Business Security Consultation Service

The Sheriff's Department is committed to making sure that businesses in our communities have the needed security information to minimize theft, loss, burglary and break-ins. The Sheriff's Crime Prevention Unit offers free business security assessments. Crime Prevention Specialists work directly with businesses to address individual security vulnerabilities and concerns. 2023 Minerva Scholarship

The Minerva Scholarship program was established to assist students by offering financial assistance to meet educational expenses. This year we will be selecting 108 students who gender identify as women or are female regardless of gender identity. Those selected will receive a $3,000 scholarship! Find more information here.

Colibri MX Scholarship

The Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego, in partnership with MAAC, launched the Colibrí MX Scholarship in December 2019. This scholarship aims to promote access to higher education for immigrant students of Mexican or Latinx descent residing in San Diego County. The application will be open until June 30, find more information here.
