US 49th Congressional District Candidate Forum |
Candidates Matt Gunderson and Mike Levin running in the 49th Congressional District in this November's general election are scheduled to take part in a Candidate Forum jointly sponsored by the League of Women Voters of North County San Diego and the Chambers of Commerce of Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside, Solana Beach, and Vista.

Last week we hosted the Vista City Council candidate forum along with the League of Women Voters and South Vista Communities.
The candidates for Vista City Council in District 2, Anthony White and Jeff Fox, and District 3, Katie Melendez and Denisse Barragan, were questioned on issues regarding affordable housing, homelessness, safety, and economic development.

Free Mulch & Compost Giveaway for Vista Residents |
The City of Vista, in partnership with EDCO Disposal, is offering free mulch and compost to residents on the following dates:
• October 4-6
• November 1-3
• December 6-8
The event is self-serve, located at the vacant lot at Vale Terrace Drive and Williamston Street, open from dawn to dusk. Bring your own containers, gloves, shovels, and a tarp if using an open truck bed.
Mulch helps conserve water, control weeds, and improve soil health. For more details, contact the City's Public Works Department at 760.639.6177.
