Venetian Causeway Water and Sewer Main Replacement

Project Advisory: Wednesday, February 8, 2023

The Venetian Causeway Water and Sewer Main Replacement project is underway. The contractor is working to replace the old water and sewer main with new pipes that will be installed underground.

Timeline Update

The contractor will begin Phase III (north side of Venetian Way) on February 20, 2023 due to a schedule change. Some few materials required to complete Phase II have yet to arrive, and the contractor has been approved to move into Phase III to avoid construction delays. Please be aware that Phase II has not been completed and that the contractor will return to this phase after completing the remaining phases.

During Phase III, the contractor will be staging the pipe in the bike lanes and sidewalk from Rivo Alto to Di Lido Island. We will continue to share additional communication as we move into these portions of the project.

Work will continue Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with weekend work approved on a case-by-case basis. This project remains on schedule and is expected to be completed by the fall of 2023. Please know that this schedule may change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Phase III – Traffic Changes for February 20 - March 2023

  • The westbound lane on Venetian Way between Island Ave will be closed.
  • The westbound lane between East and West Rivo Alto will be closed.
  • The westbound bike lanes and sidewalks on Venetian Way between Island Ave will be closed.

  • Eastbound sidewalks are currently open and the bike lanes will reopen on February 20, 2023.
