The Venetian Causeway Water and Sewer Main Replacement project is underway. The contractor is working to replace the old water and sewer main with new pipes that will be installed underground.
Project Update
Road renovations on the north side of the causeway between Belle Isle and Rivo Alto are now complete, and the project will return to Phase II on Monday, August 14, 2023, for sewer main connections. Please be advised that this is the final phase of this project.
Due to the traffic plan changes, the left turn from Century Lane onto Venetian Way (eastbound) will be restricted. Traffic on Belle Isle will be redirected through Island Ave south. The city's Parking and Police Departments have committed additional resources to provide a seamless transition.
Timeline
A full project closeout will take place by the end of the fall 2023. The project team anticipates that all traffic impacts will be removed by end of September 2023. Regular work hours will continue Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with weekend work approved on a case-by-case basis.
Please know that this schedule may change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Phase II – Traffic Changes
- The eastbound lane on Venetian Way between Island Ave will be closed.
- The eastbound lane on Venetian Way between East and West Rivo Alto will be closed.
- The westbound bike lanes and sidewalks will be open.
- The eastbound bike lanes and sidewalks will be closed.
