The Venetian Causeway Water and Sewer Main Replacement project is underway. The contractor is working to replace the old water and sewer main with new pipes that will be installed underground.
Project Update
To ensure that water main connections are made, select properties on Rivo Alto and Belle Isle may face a brief water shutdown. Please be advised that the city will contact these properties separately. This overnight shutdown is scheduled for Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
A change order for pipe repairs on the bridge connecting Di Lido and Rivo Alto has caused a minor delay in the project's timeframe. The project team currently anticipates that the existing traffic impacts will be removed by September 2023.
Timeline
A full project closeout will take place by the end of fall. Regular work hours will continue Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with weekend work approved on a case-by-case basis.
Please know that this schedule may change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Phase IV – Traffic Changes
- The westbound lane on Venetian Way between Island Ave will be closed.
- The westbound lane between East and West Rivo Alto will be closed.
- The westbound bike lanes and sidewalks on Venetian Way between Island Ave will be closed.
- The westbound bike lanes and sidewalks between Rivo Alto Island and E San Marino Drive will be closed.
- On Di Lido Island, a work zone will be set up, blocking the westbound right turn onto E Dilido Drive.
