Welcome to Your Library during National Library Week

This week, April 4 - 10, is National Library Week, a time to highlight the essential role libraries, librarians and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities. Whether virtually or in person, our mission is to bring people, information and ideas together to enrich lives and build community. We invite you to celebrate National Library Week with us!

How has the Ventress Memorial Library played a role in your life this past year? Throughout the month of April, you can share your story in one of three ways. Fill out a story form in person to display on our Marshfield Library Stories Board, fill out a story form online, or post why you love your library on Facebook or Instagram. Be sure to tag us and use the hashtag #MyLibraryMyStory. One lucky patron will also win a $50 Amazon gift card (18+ only). Call the library at 781-834-5535 with questions.

And finally, check out our Calendar of Events, Facebook page, and Instagram to stay up to date on our activities and library happenings all month long for children, teens, and adults.
Spring Into Reading 2021 – Reading Challenge

Finish the challenge by completing a total of five books and/or activities. All who complete the challenge by May 31 will get a free book to keep. Celebrating Duke Ellington
Virtual Concert

Join us on Saturday, April 10 from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. for a live Zoom event, featuring the acclaimed jazz duo of Peter H. Bloom, flute, and John Funkhouser, piano, in a video-concert of the duo "Celebrating Duke Ellington". This program is supported in part by a grant from the Marshfield Cultural Council, which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet the musicians beforehand. Then, we’ll enjoy a high-quality pre-recorded video of Peter and John and their Duke Ellington Celebration concert. After the concert, we’ll host a Zoom reception, so we can chat, ask the musicians questions, and enjoy coffee and pastries (BYO refreshments!). Advance registration is required - register here!
Spring/Summer Meditation Series

Click Here to register for April sessions of the "Spring/Summer Meditation Series" on 4/15 and 4/29 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m., featuring Valerie York. The first session in the series will offer a "Guided Meditation" on April 15. So often in our hurried lives, we become ungrounded, unfocused and scattered. Join us for an evening of relaxation as Reiki Master Teacher Valerie York leads us in a meditation to ground and call back our energy.

These sessions will take place via Zoom. Advance registration for each individual session is required. Before logging onto the session, please gather a bottle of water, a journal and something to write with as you may wish to take notes.
