Ireland's Great Famine in Irish-American History

Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, join us on March 13th from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. for a Zoom presentation of "Ireland's Great Famine in Irish-American History" by Mary Kelly, Ph.D. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Marshfield Cultural Council, which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council. Drawing on material from her book, Dr. Kelly will discuss the role of the Famine in shaping Irish-American ethnic identity. Focusing on the long-term impact of the episode between the 1840s and 1990s, she explores the shadowed landscape of Famine legacy and its status in Irish-American culture today. Advance registration is required - register here.
Children's Updates

The Children’s Room is looking forward to spring! You can now sign up for our Celebrate Spring Kit which will contain seeds, gardening dirt, a pot, journaling sheets, and a few other gardening themed goodies. These kits are one per family - register here! Kits will be available for pick up from March 20 - 27. The Children’s Room will be growing along with you. We have also partnered with Neighborhood Forest to give out seedling trees to children and families - register here!

New Family Music Programs
Starting March 24, we will offer two four-week family music programs via Zoom - register here! These programs will offer songs and imaginative musical play that encourage grownups and children to play together. This class promotes pattern recognition, listening, distinguishing sounds, word recall, taking turns and more. This class is designed for children ages 3 – 6. Each program will end with a special group pajama party Zoom to celebrate!
