Ready, Set, Go! The Evacuation Preparedness Community Survey is now open


Ventura residents are invited to participate in the City’s Evacuation Preparedness Community Survey, aimed at improving safety and resiliency during emergencies.


The 10-minute online survey is open through October 3, 2023, and available in English and Spanish.


Share your views on all-hazards preparedness, evacuation routes, emergency shelters, transportation options, disaster communication methods, and more.

Additional commercial cannabis business permits granted for retail operations


The City has issued three more commercial cannabis conditional permits after a rigorous Phase IV reassessment process.


Interim City Manager Don Penman granted approval to MOM Ventura, located at 3868 East Main Street; Shryne Ventura, situated at 1860 S. Victoria Avenue; and Safeport, positioned at 5801 Valentine Road.

The County of Ventura and the Museum of Ventura County will hold a series of family-friendly pop-up events in celebration of Ventura County's 150th Anniversary.

The Ocean Outfall Project for VenturaWaterPure kicks off this week


Beginning this week, a cornerstone of Ventura's forward-looking water investment portfolio, the VenturaWaterPure Program takes an important step toward enhancing the City's water supply resilience.


This landmark project marks the City's effort to secure its water future, positioning Ventura at the forefront of sustainable water management in the region.


The Ocean Outfall project is a critical component of the future Advanced Water Purification Facility, which is projected to provide up to 20% of the City's water supply when fully operational. Read more about the project at cityofventura.ca.gov/OceanOutfall.

September 11, 2023 - City Council meeting agenda

Council meetings are back!


Ventura City Council Meetings resume from summer recess at 6:00 p.m. on September 11 and 25. All regular meeting agendas are posted on the City's website in the Agenda Center.


As a reminder, the City offers live two-way Spanish interpretation services for all City Council meetings (available virtually and in person). No advanced request required.


How to participate during a public meeting:

  • Step 1: Review the agenda
  • Step 2: Submit a public comment via email by 4PM to [email protected]
  • Step 3: Join the Webex Meeting using the URL posted on the agenda to provide LIVE public comments or watch as listed on the agenda. The meeting can also be watched on the City's YouTube channel.
