Venture Creations Receives $1.8 Million NYSERDA Contract
Rochester Institute of Technology’s Venture Creations incubator has been awarded a new four-year contract valued at $1.8 million from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), focused on early-stage, clean-energy companies.

VCI Clients Become Luminate Finalists
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the first 10 companies selected to take part in New York State's first-ever Luminate NY accelerator competition . The inaugural class of finalists includes VCI clients Positive Science , which designs eye-tracking hardware and software, and Molecular Glasses, which creates specialty materials for improved OLED display performance. They were selected after pitching ideas to an advisory panel comprised of industry experts at the Luminate NY Lightning Awards.

The exciting role-playing game is coming to a console near you! Developed by VCI client Dan and Gary Games, this unique offering will be released on the Play Station Network and Steam in spring of 2018 .
Venture Creations Client Spotlight
Edgespace is one of the latest companies to join Venture Creations, but CEO Kevin Kearney is not new to our organization. After graduating from RIT in 1982, Kevin founded Pixel Physics in 2001, the very first company at Venture Creations. Like VCI, Kevin values the incredible talent pool of RIT students. His company writes software using artificial intelligence to analyze data as it streams to the cloud. They work in everything from industrial settings to social media analysis.

Venture Creations celebrated the launch of four new businesses at a graduation cermony Oct. 17. Impact Earth, Optel, Token, and Turbett Surgical have made their way into the public, creating 21 jobs across the four companies. Graduation included remarks from Vice President of Research Ryne Raffaelle, Splyce CEO and RIT/VCI Alumnus Marty Strenczewilk, and VCI Director Rich Notargiacomo.
