Wake Forest unveils plans for mixed-use district

Last week, Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC unveiled plans for "The Grounds" on a 100-acre swath of underutilized land around three of the school's sports venues that it plans to transform into a vibrant, mixed-use neighborhood. This transformational district, which began with a strategic planning, real estate analysis and competitive procurement effort led by B&D and Cushman & Wakefield, is consistent with growing national interest in mixed-use district development on college campuses anchored by existing and new sports venues, including stadiums and arenas.
