Bikers LOVE the Green!
The Vergennes Green, also known as City Park is a mecca for gathering, especially in the summertime. Recently, a group of 40 bikers from the Boston Cyclists Union rode through Vergennes starting in Boston and making their way up to Grand Isle. The organization serves as a leadership pipeline for bike advocacy around Boston and beyond. "We love Vergennes!", remarked Events Manager, Ryan Waldron. Several members of the group were librarians and enjoyed visiting the Bixby; most all got a taste of lu.lu ice cream too!

A bike fix-it station was recently installed on the Green to accommodate the hundreds of bikers that pass through Vergennes each year. Our thanks to the generosity of the Addison County Board of Realtors who provided the funds through a generous grant. Thank you ACBOR!

Who Came to Visit the Vergennes? Read on....
|
|
Vergennes is a destination for all sorts of great reasons, including taking in the grandeur of the Bixby Memorial Free Library. Imagine the delight of director Catharine Hays when she met a recent visitor who turned out to be the grandson of Frederick G. Frost, the architect of the library! An architect in his own right, like his father and grandfather, Tom Frost paid a visit with his daughter, Kate Mastrangelo. Some time back, Tom’s father donated the original first floor plans and the Bixby is proud to house them in their Historical Collection. After learning about of all the Little City has to offer, they spent the afternoon exploring up, down and around Main!
