Former Collaborative Dominican Novitiate Transformed into Home for Women in Transition
Does the photo above look familiar? For many Dominican Sisters, this was their home during their canonical novitiate year in St. Louis. The Collaborative Dominican Novitiate (CDN) moved to this location in 2001. Sisters Lorraine RĂ©aume, OP (Adrian) and Cathy Arnold, OP (Peace) worked here for two years until it was decided to move the novitiate to Chicago. Moving out was one thing, but what to do with the house was another. Through a series of connections and collaboration, the former novitiate has become a home for women transitioning from jail or prison to new life in the community. Read more

Congregation Awarded for Long-time Support to Nonprofit that Serves People of Appalachia

Fahe, a nonprofit organization that works to lift the people of Appalachia out of poverty, awarded the Adrian Dominican Congregation the Dwayne Yost Friend of Fahe Award at its annual meeting in recognition of the Portfolio Advisory Board's long-standing support of the organization. Sister Corinne Florek, OP, accepted the award virtually on behalf of the Adrian Dominican Sisters. Read more
