With great sadness, the Adrian Dominican Sisters announce the death of Sister Jamie T. Phelps, OP, PhD, a theologian, preacher, social worker, social and racial justice advocate, and passionate promoter of Black Catholic Studies and the gifts of Black Catholics to the Church. She died at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Michigan, on November 22, 2025.
