VTASCE Monthly News and Updates
Good afternoon members of the Vermont Section of ASCE. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all in-person events will be suspended until further notice. However, there will be exciting virtual events in the coming months so stay tuned! We will be advertising ASCE events as well as events from other professional organizations.

As 2021 quickly approaches, don't forget to renew your ASCE membership for the following year! By renewing early, you're eligible for several prizes. Here are the early bird renewal prizes you could be eligible for:

ASCE New Hampshire 3rd Annual Engineers Day Conference


The 3rd Annual Engineers Day Conference will be taking place this year on November 17th through November 19th. This "virtual" conference offers the opportunity to earn 6 PDHs and all conference proceeds go to the ASCE-NH Scholarship Fund.

Vermont Society of Land Surveyors (VSLS) December Seminar

Registration is now open for the VSLS December seminar. This event will take place virtually on Friday, December 11th. See schedule outline here. Wendy Lathrop, owner of Cadastral Consulting, will present two webinars on topics of interest to land surveyors:
  • Adversity in Action: Understanding Adverse Possession 8:00am - 11:00am
  • Disputes Between Adjoining Landowners 2:00pm - 5:00pm

Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) Presentation and Panel Discussion

WTS is holding a presentation and panel discussion event on the Vermont Middlebury Tunnel Project on Wednesday, November 18th from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Speakers include VTrans Engineer Fianna Barrows, VTrans Project Manager Jonathan Griffin, VHB Project Manager Aaron Guyette, and Town of Middlebury's Community Liaison Jim Gish. This event is free for members and non-members.

University of Vermont Advanced Engineering Courses Online
The University of Vermont is now offering several advanced engineering courses in-person and online. If the class times don't work with your schedule, class recordings will be available for later viewing allowing you to still take the courses. You may find these courses of interest:
