Verona High School
Stage 3 Reopening Plan & Survey
We hope today finds you and your family well. These have been challenging times for everyone, especially our students. I want to thank families, students, and staff for showing resilience as we collectively work to navigate our school during this global pandemic.
In this email, we will outline Verona High School's plan to transition to Stage 3 of the District's Reopening Plan. This plan is different than the plan previously communicated in September, so please read this entire email carefully.
The main difference in this revised plan is that we have scheduled even more in-person instruction.
Students will be assigned to 1 of 3 cohort groups (A, B, or C). We will communicate your students cohort in the Genesis Parent Portal. When the students arrive at school for in-person instruction, each student will be in periods 1, 2, 3, and 4 or in periods 5, 6, 7, and 8. On days when the student's cohort is not in the building for in-person instruction, he or she will be participating in synchronous lessons with his or her classmates.
Students in grades 9, 10, and 11 who have special education replacement courses, will be scheduled to be in the building for in-person instruction 5 days a week starting on November 9, 2020. These students will be assigned to Cohort D and do not appear on the schedule below because they are in the building every day starting on November 9, 2020. Each student in Cohort D will receive additional communication from his or her case manager.
