Happy 10th Anniversary!

The VetCOT Veterinary Trauma Center (VTC) network is celebrating its 3rd wave of 10th Anniversary Trauma Centers. Three currently active trauma centers joined VetCOT as part of “Wave 3” in 2015—

  • Canada West Veterinary Specialists and Critical Care Hospital, Vancouver, BC, Canada
  • The Veterinary Specialty Center, IL,
  • Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego, CA

Resources Subcommittee

The team is working on updating the "Resources for the optimal care of the injured veterinary patient" document. The current version is below.

They are also creating Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG).

Registry Data and Publications Subcommittee

We have 33 published articles using VetCOT Registry Data and 11 more in process.


Thanks to your continued efforts we also have 76,600 registry case entries.

Veterinary Advanced Trauma Life Support (VetATLS) Development

  • The Primary Survey Module is FREE! (1 hour of CE!)
  • Module 1 is available for $75!
  • The remainder of the online course (12 hours of CE!) will be released in January 2026.
  • The first in-person skills lab will be taught at VetCOT 2026. Be there to be the first learners certified in VetATLS.
