A Spotlight on Veteran Enriched Neighborhoods®

WELCOME HOME!

Congratulations to the families who moved into their new homes in our Palmdale Veteran Enriched Neighborhood® last month! After months of dedication and commitment towards enrichment programs and sweat equity, these families are now first-time homeowners. Thank you to all of our generous donors, thousands of volunteers, event attendees, community partners, subcontractors, and many more who made their dreams come true. The move-in day was made extra sweet with generous gift cards from the Assistance League of Antelope Valley, beautiful handmade wood flags from Richard Dunbar, a plethora of home needs from the Palmdale Elks Lodge #2027, dishwashers from the Katz Foundation and other thoughtful gifts. Welcome home families!

Construction Update

The homes in Phase 3 of Palmdale Veteran Enriched Neighborhood® are advancing quick. The third phase is in the process of the drywall and driveways being installed. By the end of August, the next eight homes will have their exterior walls painted and completed.

Following Phase 3, foundations for Phase 4 have been poured!

Fishing With a Mission

Last month, our veterans spent the entire day deep-sea fishing on a privately owned and operated sport boat in Channel Islands. Fishing with a mission helps foster new friendships and bonds. Veterans started the morning with wellness breathing exercises to center them and prepare them to catch big fish! Thank you to our wonderful Board Member, Bob Niesner, for sponsoring this amazing excursion for our veterans.
