Vet Connect 2023 Recap

The April 8th Vet Connect Event at Embassy Suites in Loveland was a huge success! The attendance was beyond expectations, and we were able to connect over 300 Veterans and families with each other and with our sponsors and resources.

Post War Story

We received many wonderful stories from the 3-hour event. Tammy Steller's father (Rich Labash) served on the USS Constellation. He flew in from Omaha, Nebraska just to attend the event: From Tammy: “In over 50 years, my father has never met anyone else who served on the Connie and he MET TWO at Vet Connect! You made this happen and you have my sincere thanks and appreciation.”

A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Qualified Listeners for their efforts and support provided to Veterans at Northern Colorado and Cheyenne VAHCS Center for Development of Civic Engagement.

Qualified Listeners was awarded a $2,500 Blue Star Grant from McKee Wellness Foundation to fund a transportation program in Northern Colorado. Qualified Listeners served 113 Veterans with transportation in Larimer County in 2022.

Buffalo Soldiers

We would like to thank the Buffalo Soldiers for attending the Vet Connect Conference. This group has a very interesting history dating back to 1866, right after the Civil War. The Buffalo Soldiers were recruited to serve on the American frontier. Now volunteers attend events to educate the public about the rich history of this group.
