Why Should I Update My DD-214

A couple years back I got into a conversation with some other Navy Destroyer guys and the topic came around to which campaigns we were a part of. I had never paid much attention to this but decided to work through my Veteran Service Officer to see if there were any updates to my original DD-214 that I received in November 1972. I was surprised to learn of several additions and awards I was not aware I was eligible for. This information changes some of my ribbon configurations. Researching this may or may not change anything in your military history, but we wanted you to be aware that it can. The DD-214 you received upon discharge may change over the years - it's not necessarily static. If this is something that interests you, I recommend calling your county Veteran Service Office or your current Veteran Service Officer. We receive donated mobility devices, ramps, furniture, small appliances, and other items for Veterans and are out of storage space. We're seeking about 1,000 sq. ft. of donated space along the I-25 corridor between Hwy 66 and Windsor to help us serve more Veterans and their families.
