Mission Handoff [A New Face Joins the SSV Leadership Team]
After more than 11 years of compassionate, mentoring leadership to many (in the roles of CEO, Chief Programs Officer, and BOD member) Paulette Risher, President/CEO of Still Serving Veterans, Major General, US Army (Retired) has announced her plans to retire at the end of March. This will mark her 3rd retirement in a lifetime of accomplishments, but it’s unlikely her last.

In preparation, the SSV Board of Directors conducted a 5 month-long, nationwide search for her successor. “We looked for an individual who embodies the characteristics of a servant-leader, is a Veteran, and has the experience to continue the onward and upward trajectory of service to our Veterans.” - John T. Wright, Board Chair, Colonel, US Army (Retired)
Today, it is with great pleasure that we announce that Richard B. Landolt, Rear Admiral, US Navy (Retired) has agreed to serve as the next SSV CEO/President. During the month of March, Rich will join the organization and begin his transition with Paulette’s full support. A formal announcement and date for the ‘Mission Handoff’ will be forthcoming. Please help us welcome Rich to the Still Serving Veterans family!

Celebrating 17 Years of Service!
On Feb. 8th, 2006, SSV began its Veteran support journey. Now, 17 years later, we work with thousands of Veterans and their families nationwide every year to help them build meaningful and fulfilling lives.
For your Birthday this year consider a Facebook Fundraiser in support of SSV. 100% of your donation will provide no-cost services to Veterans. https://www.facebook.com/fund/SSVeterans/
MISSION MOMENT: How Your Support is Helping Veterans
Empowering Veterans to find fulfilling post-military careers and build meaningful lives they love.
Not everyone who leaves the Military does so by choice…
When peak physical fitness is required to do your job, an injury or health change can bench a lifetime of work and dreams. Adrian, a US Marine rifleman, learned this the hard way when he was medically discharged in 2018. There is no way to prepare for this shock, but connecting with other Veterans who can relate and offer encouragement, is a good start.

Adrian enlisted in the Marines after high school and planned to devote his life to serving his country. For several years he perfected his skills on the battlefields in the War on Terror. But after his medical discharge and separation, he found that many of his skills did not transfer to the civilian workforce. For almost four years he "searched for a new career that fit me well.” “I was lost in my job search until I connected with SSV, if it were not for them, I would still be kicking rocks, frustrated about being underemployed.” - Adrian
All of our services are offered at no cost to the Veterans and employers we serve through the generosity of individuals, corporations, community partners and other benefactors like The Call of Duty Endowment.

Workshops Designed to Get You Working
SSV's Career & Transition team offers several job search and personal growth training opportunities, both virtually and face-to-face. We recently hosted a 'Navigating the Transition Wilderness' workshop for Ft. Benning transitioning Military, where participants dove into questions designed to help them define and shape their post-military future. Paulette Risher, SSV's CEO, lead the training with staff support from our satellite office located near Ft. Benning (Thanks Reggie, Kate, Dori & Jamie Lee). If you missed this workshop, reach out to one of our Career counselors. They are here to help, full of great career advice, and as Veterans themselves, they know where you are coming from.
Tell your Veteran friends about our services!
