May Veteran of the Month - Miles Grooms

This month we want to recognize Miles Grooms as our VBH Veteran of the Month! Miles works at Bank of America and is a current Major in the US Army Reserve and works for West Point's Admissions Office managing all Academy Admissions operations in the greater Charlotte area. Miles is also the President of the West Point Society of the Carolina's and leads a 500 person alumni organization in the greater Charlotte area. His focus is on supporting the graduates and families of West Point in addition to providing support to the Charlotte-area community.

In addition to his work with West Point, Miles is a two-time VBH Captain and has helped spear head our happy hours and Panthers in the Park events. He is an advisory board member for Patriots Path, Inc and an advisory committee member for the USO of North Carolina. He is a graduate of the city of Charlotte's Civic Leadership Academy and was selected as a Charlotte Market Ambassador for Bank of America in 2019 as a member of Bank of America's Volunteer Honor Roll for commitment to serving the Charlotte, NC area community, especially within the Veteran community.

Miles Grooms is constantly finding new ways to give back to the military and veteran community and our team at VBH is incredibly grateful for his hard work! Thank you Miles!

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Charlotte Observer) - Mecklenburg County Manager Dena Diorio says stay-at-home orders have saved thousands of lives in Charlotte and so far have kept an estimated 40,000 people out of the hospital, citing a recent Big Cities Health Coalition study. (Read more)

As he was leaving the Charlotte veterans’ clinic one day in 2014, U.S. Army veteran Lewis Patterson noticed a flyer about an art class for veterans. The class changed his life. (Read more)
