US VETS
The mission of US Vets is to end veteran homelessness in the United States. It is founded by a veteran to support veterans. They provide support and resources needed to get Vets jobs, housing, counseling, and meals. They host StandDowns in many counties in Arizona. StandDowns are from a term used in war where both sides took a “rest” from fighting. StandDown here is for veterans to take a “rest” from being homeless. StandDowns are events where homeless Vets get supplies and services such as food, shelter, clothing, health assessments, and VA Social Security Benefits information. US Vets need volunteers in many areas for their StandDown events as well as the shelter, etc. They especially need help in their kitchen for the next 2 months as one of their staff is injured. To find out more about this organization and how you can help as a volunteer, a donor, or an employer, visit USVets.org. To volunteer contact Michelle Brien at 928-356-2771 or mbrien@usvets.org.
