Creating a Monument to Honor Our Veterans
On Saturday morning, we will dedicate the city’s veterans’ monument and unveil the sculptures that represent each of the branches of our Armed Forces. The monument, which is located on the Town Green at the new Town Center, also tells the stories of the countless citizens and community members who heeded the call to serve.

How to Keep Up with Upcoming Events
Now that the Town Green is open, you may expect a slate of activities, concerts and other events to take place on the Town Green throughout the year. Events are posted on the
City Calendar which is located on the City's
website.
To ensure you don't miss out on any of the upcoming events, sign up to receive email reminders. It's easy to subscribe. On the city's
website, click on the link at the top of the page labeled "
Notify Me!," select
eNotifications, then select the topics you are interested in. Email notices are sent out six days in advance of the event.

For Everyone's Enjoyment, Please Follow the Town Green Rules
The Town Green is a gathering area designed for the community's enjoyment. There are a few guidelines that must be followed to ensure a safe and fun time for everyone.
Please read:
- Town Center is open every day from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (No overnight camping is allowed.)
- Leave things as you found them. (Pick up after yourself and anyone you brought with you. Return furniture from where you got it.)
- Behave as if your mother is watching (because she could be… there are cameras everywhere.)
- Don’t bring prohibited items:

What Hours May Fireworks Be Discharged?
|
|
The hours that residents may shoot off fireworks is regulated by the State of Georgia and enforced by the local authorities (
Gwinnett County Police
).
Consumer fireworks can be used or ignited on any day beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at 9 p.m. Consumer fireworks can also be used or ignited on July 3 and July 4 after 9 p.m. and up to midnight. And on December 31 (New Year's Eve) up to 1:00 a.m., Jan. 1 (New Year's Day).
For residents who live in a neighborhood that are governed by Homeowners Associations, please check with your HOA for additional regulations.

Traffic Alert for New Roundabout
Construction on the new
roundabout at the intersection of Medlock Bridge Road and Peachtree Corners Circle is moving along. Although the project is not completely finished, it is now functioning as a roundabout. Please use caution and watch for the directional signs as you navigate your way through this new circular intersection.

Independence Day Holiday Trash and Recycle Pickup Schedule
This year the Fourth of July holiday falls on a Thursday. There will be no garbage and recycle pickup on this national holiday (July 4). Residents scheduled for Thursday will receive service on Friday and residents with a Friday pickup schedule will receive service on Saturday.

S.R. 141 Traffic Alert
For those who travel on S.R. 141 south of Holcomb Bridge Road, please be aware of overnight lane closures.
Georgia DOT is repaving S.R. 141 between Holcomb Bridge Road and I-285; work will occur between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Please use caution and expect traffic to slow while the work is done.
The road improvement project includes milling, inlay and resurfacing -- the work is expected to be complete by the end of August barring any weather delays. Before heading out, call 511 or visit

to get the latest on traffic conditions.

The U.S. Constitution requires that each decade a census of the population be conducted. The next census will be conducted by the
U.S. Census Bureau in March 2020. Census data is used to guide how federal, state and local funding is distributed for critical services such as schools, fire departments and health care facilities.
The Census Bureau is currently recruiting thousands of people across the nation, includin
g Peachtree Corners, to assist with the 2020 Census count.

Councilmember Sadd Graduates Leadership Gwinnett Class
Councilmember Phil Sadd, who represents Post 1, is among the 39 local leaders to graduate from the
Leadership Gwinnett
Class of 2019.
Sadd was selected last spring for the prestigious nine-month program that began in August 2018. The class represented diverse industries including education, law, corporate, nonprofit, technology, health care, politics and government.
