The Grapevine
Dear residents of Victoria Gardens,
Hi, this is C.J. Hamlin with some exciting news.
The third episode of our new podcast, "The Grapevine" is now available. On this latest episode Mr,. Ed Pritchett hosts a segment on Pickleball; you don't want to miss this wonderful discussion! Also on the show, I answer four questions submitted by residents, Evelyn Rosa and Justine Tucker give updates on the lifestyle activities for May, and a special Happy Birthday to one of our residents.
The podcast is similar to a radio show. It's like having an audio version of the newsletter.
You can listen to the podcast on your computer, iPad, or smart phone. You could also bring your headphones to the clubhouse and listen to the podcast at the computers in the library.
We will be featuring many of our amazing residents here, interviews with doctors, historians, and much more. If you would like to be a guest on a future show, please contact me at [email protected]
We will also be answering questions submitted by residents on the show. You can send your questions to: [email protected]
Regards,
Charles J. Hamlin "C.J."

Library Volunteer Committee
Thank you for book donations…..HOWEVER, just a reminder that with the limited size of our library we cannot take/keep books that have a copy write date before 2010. Also we cannot take religious or text books, and magazines need to be the current or previous month only. We also cannot accept collections of specific subjects or authors. These kinds of books are happily accepted by the Deland and Lk. Helen libraries. Please do not leave these items for our volunteers to deal with. Our volunteers put considerable time and effort into keeping out library current and looking good, and we would appreciate your help in observing our donation policies.
Thank you.

MUSIC AT THE GARDENS
Do you enjoy singing, being part of a musical production or playing an instrument in a small group? Maybe you’d like to try and have some fun! There are several opportunities that are available right now.
VeeGees
Singers are always welcome for small groups or the larger choral group which perform for special events and a holiday concert. Production help is needed in the areas of lighting (particularly spotlight), stage manager and crew. Piano accompanists are always welcome.
Instrumental Group
A new instrumental group is being formed. Brush the dust off your instrument! There is a need for a drummer, a string bass player and trumpet player.
If any of these opportunities spark an interest and you would like more information, please contact Deane Booth, Director of Music for the VeeGees at [email protected].

COME PLAY DUPLICATE
BRIDGE!
Wednesday afternoons,
1 p.m.
Seeking new and experienced players to join us. For those new to duplicate, the same hands are played at each table and scoring is based on relative performance. In this way, every hand, whether strong or weak, is played in competition with others playing identical cards, and the element of skill is heightened while that of chance is reduced . In other words, if you get a good or bad hand, so do the other players. It is fun to compare how others played the same hand.
Stop by (usually in the multi-purpose room) any Wednesday between 1 and 4 p.m. to meet the players and sign up to be called when players are needed. You are invited to join us!
