1. School Camps
A new Victorian Department of Education Operations Guide (effective Monday 1 November, 2021) was released earlier today.
Section 8 deals with Camps. The whole section is as follows
8. Camps and excursions
Camps, excursions, and incursions for Victorian schools can resume. Camp providers can now take multiple-school bookings, however these should be minimised wherever possible.
It's certainly to the point!
As noted previously, within the current Open Premises Directions as issued by the Chief Health Officer it notes in relation to schools:-
14. Exclusive use by one school
If an open premises is being operated only for the purpose of one school using the premises exclusively, the obligations in Part 2 and the patron limits in Part 4 do not apply. Parts 2 and 4 relate to density and group size limits.
Thus I would encourage facilities that accommodate more than one school at a time to consider keeping these groups separate. However density limits do not need to be adhered to for these school groups. I note that this Direction is due to expire of November 18th.
2. Vaccination of Guests
I have been made aware of verbal advise that has been received from Business Victoria in regards to the vaccination status of guests. The key points being:-
- They confirmed vaccinations are not mandatory for guests utilising accommodation services
- This included the provision of food and other services at these facilities AS LONG as these unvaccinated guests only interacted with their group (i.e. the venue in question is not open to the general public)
- The above rule also applied to day visitors who are part of a residential group.
