Recently, Victory Christian Center hosted a presentation, “Bringing Back the Black Robed Regiment” by Pastor Dan Fisher. Pastor Robyn Gool, the senior pastor of Victory Christian Center, encouraged everyone, including students from everywhere to attend. To my surprise, a great number of people turned out for this educational event which informed people about the importance of the church and shared how it was the pulpit that birthed liberty in America. The presentation was educational and taught us some specific details about the history of America and how it was founded. America was founded on biblical principles, and it was the church — pastors and ministers who fought for the liberty of this nation. They stood for their beliefs that God personally intervenes in the operation of the world and its leadership. America was wounded and broken, needing the church leaders to stand up for the rights of the people and protect the future of this nation.
One point that captured my attention was when Mr. Fisher said pastors left their children and wives in order to fight for liberty for America. They were leaders who stood by their faith and wanted to build this nation. Because of their dedication and patriotism, some ended up losing their lives but for a great cause, “making America a land of freedom.” Another interesting point about the presentation was the fact that Dan Fisher had some of the materials used during the war. It was very amusing because they are rare relics and him having them showed that he is a concerned citizen who is appreciative of what the people who fought for the nation did. Dan Fisher’s voice portrayed a great deal of eloquence and animation. He switched roles and presented himself as various character which was entertaining and impressive. He dressed up like people of those times and creatively played roles of members of the black-robed regiment.
He mentioned that if the church didn't stand up against tyranny, the government would tell them what they had to believe and what to preach. This statement really captured my attention because in the world we are living in today, the government wants to control the church and tell it what to do. For example, during the pandemic in 2020, attending church was restricted unlike other places like grocery stores, strip clubs, and bars. This showed that they want to control the church and limit preaching about the culture. Others should look forward to seeing it because reflects how important we, the church, are to this nation. We need to stand up for what we believe or else it will be stolen from us.
