Bring Your Bible to School/Early Dismissal @ 1:00 pm

Thursday, October 5, 2023

We will celebrate our faith on October 5th, 2023, by joining the movement to bring our Bible to school and join 500,000+ students from around the nation in this declaration of faith!

This will also be "Word" Shirt Day for VCCS! Students may wear any faith-based t-shirt and a pair of loose-fitting jeans. Students not wearing jeans are to wear their uniform pants.

Please be reminded that regular school and preschool will dismiss at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5th, and will be closed on Friday, October 6th; Monday, and Tuesday, October 9th and 10th.

No childcare services will be provided on Friday, October 6th; Monday and Tuesday, October 9th and 10th.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Friday, October 6th, officially ends the first quarter. Parent/Teacher Conferences for Preschool, Elementary, Middle, and High School will be held on Friday, October 6th. It is our desire, if possible, that both parents be present for the conference. These conferences are essential to your child’s progress, and we appreciate your making them a priority.

Conferences will last no longer than 20 minutes and are required before report cards are issued. Thank you for your continued support!

VCCS Loves Fine Arts!

VCCS welcomed guest cellist Mrs. Sharon Wilkins. She is retired from CMS where she taught middle school strings and choral music. Presently, she teaches music at Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC, and plays the cello for the Salisbury Symphony.

Students sang as she played the violin and cello. Mrs. Wilkins played pieces from the Baroque, Classical, and Contemporary periods of music and students had the opportunity to compare the stringed instruments, as well

as discuss the viola and double bass.
