Teacher Spotlight: Meet Natalya

Natalya - Teacher Spotlight

"One of the things that keeps me motivated is seeing how the science behind ABA [Applied Behavior Analysis] really works, seeing how all of the interventions that we implement really do contribute to the growth; and just seeing the kids achieve their milestones."

-Natalya, Victory Center Teacher

The ABA Approach

Our teachers provide intensive therapy based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), in particular those associated with B.F. Skinner’s (1957) analysis of verbal behavior. This form of therapy is typically only provided to children with autism in home-based programs.

ABA is a scientifically proven, systematic approach to the assessment, treatment and evaluation of behavior, developing functional life skills, nurturing a greater command of language, and decreasing maladaptive behavior such as self-injury and aggression.

Victory Center Awarded $10,000 Grant:

Florida Autism License Plate Fund

Every Autism license plate we put on the road is a rolling billboard reminding people that individuals with autism are a meaningful part of the community. It is amazing to see that even a small investment in a specialty license plate helps to fund the good work of these organizations throughout the state.

With the cost of specialized autism services often exceeding what many families can afford, these nonprofit organizations ensure access to the comprehensive support so many families need to thrive. We are thrilled that sales of the Florida Support Autism Programs specialty license plate can fund these life-enhancing programs.

The Power of Your Impact

Each child’s program is custom-designed to meet their specific needs and to take into account individual strengths and weaknesses.

Individual Education Objective Program (IEOP) is based upon an in-depth assessment of the child. Programs include language, self-help, social skills, and life skills.

The Victory Center provides continuous opportunity for the facilitation of social skills that children with an Autism Spectrum diagnosis may typically lack, in contrast to a home-based therapy program.
