Here to serve in troubled times

Dear Friends of District 8,
Fertilizer regulation is critically important to combating contamination in the Bay, by reducing the huge volume of deadly nutrients that flows from septic and sewage leaks.
I especially want to thank all the concerned citizens who spoke this week and at so many past meetings, and the amazing organizations and advocates helping to lead this fight – like Miami Waterkeeper, Surfrider Miami, and so many others. We did this together!
At this week's Commission meeting we also passed my legislation accelerating transit progress in South Dade by investing in a new Park and Ride in downtown Homestead, and my ordinance revising safety zones and speed restrictions on canals in Palmetto Bay and Pinecrest.
Yours with hope for a better tomorrow,
Daniella

Our Last Chance to Boost Census Count
|
|
Deadline extended to 10/31
A federal judge ruled the 2020 Census deadline must be pushed back to October 31 – meaning our county has a final window of time to boost our lagging count, or we risk losing out on billions. Read my letter to Mayor Gimenez and respond today!

This week the Board of County Commissioners approved my proposal for up to $10 million in CARES Act relief to daycare centers. We'll follow up once the application is live.
