Keep overgrowth in check

Sierra Vista has been fortunate to enjoy above average rainfall this summer, but that also means lots of growth for grass and weeds.

Please remember to cut or spray any grass and weeds on your property before they reach 12 inches or more in height. At that point it becomes classified as overgrowth in the City code, which is the most common complaint the City’s code enforcement officers receive in the summer and fall.

Homeowners and renters are responsible not only for the growth in their front and back yards but also in the right-of-way surrounding their properties. That means it is the residents’ responsibility to keep the sidewalk and alleyway adjacent to their property clear of overgrowth too!
Keeping overgrowth in check helps prevent pests. Together we can keep our neighborhoods safe and looking great!
