We were inspired by the recent article,
A Mass Spectrometer in Every Fume Hood, by Ethan McBride and Guido Verbeck of the University of North Texas. However, rather than placing your valuable instrument in close proximity to a volatile mix of solvent, acids, and bases, we have utilized the remote analysis capabilities of DART for direct in-hood analysis. You can desorb in one place and ionize in another.
We used the DART OS desorber, coupled to the DART source with a length of tubing. This allows you to keep all your chemicals inside the hood while rapidly analyzing your reaction mixtures.
