About the Program

In the global video games ecosystem, a single click can launch a product into hundreds of jurisdictions, each with its own unique set of legal challenges. For lawyers advising game developers, publishers, and platforms (or anyone adjacent to them), having a global view of legal strategy is no longer optional—it's essential. Join games lawyers across the globe as they discuss critical insights gained while mapping the legal frameworks of this dynamic industry in their recently launched “Video Games Laws of the World” guide. From IP rights and data privacy to lootboxes and content regulation, discover how a comprehensive global perspective can help your clients avoid pitfalls and thrive in an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. Perfect for the legal practitioner looking to have a bird’s eye view of the global legal landscape in an industry where the rules change constantly and a game can circle the planet with the press of a button.

This program is presented by the Entertainment Law section, chaired by Randi Bandman and vice-chaired by Keith Kelly. The section is sponsored by Lawyers' Mutual Insurance Company. Find out more at www.bhba.org.
