What's in the 2024 IECC Residential and ASHRAE 90.1-2022

NIA has partnered with the Insulation Industry Association Council to bring you this new free webinar. PIMA's Justin Koscher and NAIMA's Jason Vandever will share insights on the changes to the residential requirements in the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and details of ASHRAE 90.1-2022. They will discuss all the significant changes to the prescriptive, performance, and Energy Rating Index (ERI) paths and what those changes will mean to the building industry.

Note: This webinar will focus primarily on residential insulation topics, with some commercial. While NIA focuses on commercial and industrial insulation industry segments, we thought this information could be useful to some of our members.

What's new with NIA's Education Center? NIA is updating our popular Mechanical Insulation Basics Course with a Spanish voice-over so that more members of your team can access it. NIA members are able to purchase the Spanish version for their teams, and it will automatically be included as part of the Premier Training Subscription at no additional cost.

NIA's Summer Meetings for Members

The NIA Board of Directors will meet July 8−10 in Colorado Springs to address ongoing projects and priorities and to map out key strategic plans in their Long-Range Planning Sessions. The 2025 Convention Committee is also meeting.

The Technical Information Committee (TIC) meets quarterly and is scheduled to do so virtually in August. The attendees are updating the popular specifications chart and will discuss the possible inclusion of the chart in ASTM 1696 and adding additional materials to it. They will also be continuing the creation of three new specifications charts: jacketing, sealants, and mastics. They are also working on creating new articles for Insulation Outlook. Contact NIA Staff Liaison Julie McLaughlin for more information or to join the Zoom meeting. This meeting is open to all NIA membership categories for free.

On July 24, the Young Professional Advisory Committee (YPAC) will hold its Summer Virtual Meeting. Key topics include: a presentation on work-life balance from YPAC Mentor Program's Jessica Zahn and NIA's EVP/CEO Michele M. Jones, along with a discussions related to task forces and priorities.
