Thanks for a great virtual walk yesterday!
Well-Care During COVID-19
Dear Walkers,

Thank you to those of you who joined us live for our February 2022 virtual Walk with a Doc!

For the February 2022 Nevada AAP Walk with a Doc, we welcomed Nevada AAP President Dr. Vanessa Slots who gave a brief, family-friendly talk on Well-Care During COVID-19 and then took your questions live.

Our event was the perfect model of a working parent in action! Dr. Slots started our virtual event at her child's swim lesson and then continued her talk while traveling with her family to go cross county skiing. Inspiring!

we're on a MISSION -- estamos en una MISION
Dear Nevada Parents: We know that pediatricians throughout our beautiful state of Nevada are recommending vaccines to you nearly every time you have an appointment for your child. What we don't really know, despite "experts who try to tell us they know", is how you, the parent, really feel about vaccinations. Don't let a few loud, but uncommon, opinions dominate this conversation. This is your chance to have your voice heard!

Stay Connected to Care
Special Note for Medicaid MCO patients: On Jan 1, 2022, many Nevada families were switched to a new MCO plan to help evenly distribute patients among the four available Medicaid plans in Nevada. Families may have been switched to a plan their preferred pediatrician is not credentialed with.

Not sure what plan you are in? Patients can register for and use a Access Nevada account to look up their current plan.

While using the Access Nevada system, patients should verify their mailing address. Critical information is sent to patients from Medicaid through traditional mail. Missed mail may lead to a loss of insurance and access to care.

Keeping schools open and safe is our first priority, so for now we're keeping our family events virtual to reduce the spread of COVID. When the COVID infection rate decreases, we will resume our in-person walks in Las Vegas and Reno.

In the meantime:
  • Keep walking every day
  • Wear sunscreen
  • Bring water
  • Keep 6 feet from other people
  • For everyone 2 years and older, wear a mask when you aren't vaccinated and can't socially distance

We hope to "see" you at our future virtual walks. Registration details and flyers below.
